AOK Arts Academy

AOK Arts Academy offers fun Speech and Drama classes boosting children and young people’s confidence, creativity and communications skills through poetry, drama, mime,  improvisation, music, dance, acting, puppetry and storytelling.

Aoife O'Keeffe is an experienced English (secondary school and English as second language) and Speech & Drama teacher. Interesting books are used to enhance language development. Students work on clear speech and performance skills in every class.

Aoife draws on a wealth of experience to ensure each child loves every single class. Children and young people adore these interactive and fun classes. Exposure to literature and the arts, compliments the Primary and Secondary School Curriculum. Language is enhanced and students gain essential life skills, while having a ball! Fun Speech and Drama classes build confidence, clarity speaking, language and communication skills in a creative format. Children develop critical thinking skills, need to listen and share ideas every class. They are engaged and challenged. They love it.

Students build confidence week by week and share more as time progresses, exuberant children hone acting skills, all while having great fun! The three pillars of Speech and Drama are confidence, creativity and communication skills but students also develop concentration, empathy, team building skills, wonderful friendships and an appreciation and understanding of the world around them through characters and stories.

Students at AOK Arts Academy gain excellent public speaking, reading skills and performance training that will stand to them for the rest of their lives. These classes are a gift for our children.

This term students are preparing for our end of term performance and Speech and Drama exams and Reading examinations. Students gain a great sense of achievement upon receiving positive feedback and their certificate from the examiner with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama.
