Madeleine @amomamongmen shares her fun fuelled few days in Cork! …

We stayed at @fotaislandresorthaving booked a 3 bedroom Courseside Lodge (#7003) with @tridentholidayhomes It did not disappoint. The lodge itself was quite spacious, 3 large ensuite bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and utility (great for the mucky gear and washing).

With @fotawildlife around the corner, the hotel pool, a few road trips and beach visits, the boys were kept busy and active. Resulting in working up both an appetite and sleeping well at night. We always do self catering as it gives us that freedom with food but also the space with the boys..it’s just easier.

The hotel’s Amber Lounge on our first night was perfect. A buffet for the children with a great selection and an “eat all you want” policy-kids delighted. Myself and himself then ordered from the menu. Lovely large booth seats for families but still felt a little fine dining without that unwelcome feel. Wish more restaurants were like this. A sound sleep each night with very comfortable beds and lovely strong showers.

It truly earned it’s 5 star rating when on the first night I realised our front door could be opened from the inside..meaning kids could just walk straight out. Security visited and the next morning a chain lock was fitted. Impressed was an understatement. I was so so grateful.

The hotel pool was lovely, set times for kids which I think always works better, and they provide towels on arrival. They also have a playground and fairy trail! .

Fota Wildlife park we have done before, very handy to be able to use your Dublin Zoo pass should you have one. Lots to see but even greater the space..the boys just ran..literally.

For me my favourite part about Cork is it’s coast and beaches. Garretstown is a breath of fresh air, literally it expands your lungs and your soul. .
We hit the city on our last morning .. the lovely Fitzgerald Park, fantastic playground and so scenic by the river.

All in all…Cork never disappoints!
