Disclaimer .. if you’re looking for a pristine, highly commercialised day out .. then this is not your place! If you’re looking for a great family morning / afternoon where you pop on your wellies, the kids get to feed all kinds of animals, make butter, design candles, eat homemade scones .. and all in the most beautiful, rustic little farm, then this is most definitely your place!
We have been there numerous times with a newborn baby, toddlers and kids of numerous primary school ages and it has been suitable for everyone. (If you are bringing a baby we’d advise a baby carrier rather than buggy) We have met many families who make it a yearly trip and that says a lot!
It’s also so lovely knowing that you are supporting a genuine, hard-working family. Location wise, it’s about two / three minutes outside of Sneem and just under half an hour from Kenmare.
The ultimate bonus is that you can then call into Strawberry Field Pancake Cottage on the road back to Kenmare … best selection of pancake toppings ever! (They even do gluten free pancakes!) Adults and kids will most definitely approve!! Win win right there!!
