If someone in your family is, or aspires to be, an historian or botanist then a trip to Belvedere House Gardens and Park is a must.
This beautiful lakeside estate is steeped in history with the Belvedere Follies including The Jealous Wall, the Octagonal Gazebo and Gothic Arch.
The walks take you by lake shore areas and through woodlands, all while passing a variety of plants and trees, some with carvings dating back to the last century. Many of the trees are well over a hundred years old, with one even said to be over 800 years old! Things like this make a place like Belvedere so special, and spread the appeal to all members and all ages of your family.
The Walled Garden is a firm favourite with a fairy garden nestled in there .. always a winner!
To top it all off there is a really nice cafe and gift shop, four play areas, zip line by the lake … this place just keeps on giving!
They also hold various events there, especially coming up to the Summer…. Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, presented by Chapterhouse Theatre Company, on July 19th really caught our eye!
Definitely add Belvedere House Gardens and Park to your ‘must visit’ list!
