Dunmore East in Co. Waterford is a fantastic family spot to visit … such a beautiful area, lots to do and has great food!
There is a gorgeous sheltered cove by The Strand Hotel (lovely for a coffee or drink) where the kids can go running around on the sand, swimming, adventuring and exploring on the rocks and caves.. such good fun!
Up the hill is the playground with the best view! It’s located beside tennis courts and in a flower filled garden with a lovely looped walk – such a lovely place to spend time with the family.
Further on again brings you to the harbour where you can watch the boats and occasional cruise liners coming in, all while eating some really great ice-cream!!
Food wise … The Lemon Tree (located up the hill away from the harbour) does the best brunch – literally could eat everything on the menu!! Azzuro Bar and Restaurant serves lovely Mediterranean style food (lots of coeliac options) and has a great atmosphere!
A short drive from Dunmore East gives you access to The Waterford Greenway… an amazing cycling and walking trail along an old railway line.
So whether you have a day or longer, Dunmore East is definitely worth a family trip!
