Easter Pom Pom Wreath

An Easter Craft Activity that occupies older kids for a long time,

An Easter Craft Activity that occupies older kids for a long time, and can be used as Easter Decor is exactly the type of activity we like around here!

What you’ll need:

Strong Card for the wreath base

Scissors

2 plates – large and small

Cream wool

Coloured card for the ears [can also colour white / cream card pink]

Glue Gun [pritt stick is sometimes not strong enough to keep the wool on the base]

Steps:

To make the cardboard base:

Get a large piece of cardboard and 2 plates – one larger, one smaller. Draw around the larger plate as the size of your wreath. Place the smaller plate inside and cut out so you have your wreath shape.

To make the pom poms:

Wrap cream wool around four fingers. Keep wrapping until it’s the size you’re happy with. This can be a little trial and error to figure out what size want. Pull the wool off your fingers and tie the centre with a piece of the wool. Then sip the outside of the wool until it open out into a pom pom.

Repeat until you have the amount of pom poms you need. This will depend on size of pom poms and the size of your cardboard wreath.

To make the Bunny Ears:

Draw out the two large ear shapes on cream card. If you have pink card, cut out the inner ear shape and glue on. If you don’t have pink, you can colour / paint onto the large ear shape.

To assemble:

A glue gun is preferable to ensure the pom poms stay stuck onto the wreath. This is a job for an adult or an older child who has had supervision and practice with one.

Glue the ears to the back of the wreath.

Now hang it on a door or hook and enjoy the delight that comes from your Easter Creation! This also makes a gorgeous gift to bring for Easter Sunday Lunch.
