When the weather is as nice as this, it only seems right that our recommended family friendly spot for the week would be a beach … and what better beach than one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland … Inchydoney Beach in West Cork. This has been a firm favourite of ours since we ourselves were children, so to now be bringing our own kids there is amazing.
How to even explain the special place that is Inchydoney?! … for starters, there are two beautiful beaches (either side of the hotel @inchydoney_lodge_and_spa) both of which are gorgeous and sandy with long, open stretches for walking which prevents it from feeling too overcrowded (even in the peak of its popularity like today!), the water is always clean, there are sand dunes and rock pools for exploring in and to top it all off, the views are spectacular!
It’s the type of beach that once people visit it, they immediately want to come back. If you are visiting West Cork for the first time this Summer, then you just have to visit!
You can book surf lessons @inchydoney_surf_school and enjoy the best fish and chips in The Dunes Bar in @inchydoney_lodge_and_spa Sitting outside on the patio there, when the sun is shining … it really is or own little piece of West Cork paradise!
