Killruddery Estate, Co. Wicklow — Sunday, 6th July 2025 10a.m. – 3pm.
This July, Killruddery’s historic Gardens will once again be transformed into a wonderland of imagination and delight for Fairy Tale Day — a much-loved family celebration of storytelling, creativity and connection with nature.
Now an annual highlight in the Killruddery cultural calendar, Fairy Tale Day invites children and their grown-ups to wander through heritage woodlands, across wildflower lawns and by quiet ponds — discovering storytelling tents, musical performances, collaborative art workshops and magical encounters at every turn.
Curated by Fionnuala Brabazon and the Killruddery Team, the 2025 event welcomes artistic partners Me + the MOON, YARN Storytelling Festival (from Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre), and musicians from the Irish Baroque Orchestra, with support from Wicklow County Council.
“Fairy Tale Day is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in wonder, creativity and the joy of shared imagination in nature,” says Fionnuala Brabazon. “It’s a day for families to step into a living story — one written in the trees, music, mud and laughter.”
What to Expect
