Monthly Favourites – June

Just a little late with last month’s favourites….. !!   First up

Just a little late with last month’s favourites….. !!

First up is the sunscreen that I’ve mentioned plenty of times before but wanted to pop in here because we used it constantly throughout June. It’s the @greenpeopleuk Organic Children’s Sunscreen and it does exactly what you need it to do, without any nasties!

Next is the @matchstick_monkey teething toy. We got this in @bellababystores and Baby Girl has been loving it. It has handles for her to grip on and you can see the pleasure and soothing she gets from the textured ridges. You can apply teething gel (love @teethaireland gel) to the top for extra relief. And the best part … we sometimes give it to her at meal times and it’s so easy to clean it afterwards … no material for food to get stuck on, no openings for food to get stuck in … it’s a winner in our books!

And something that was just for me .. the @waters_wild Rose and Oud Perfume, an organic perfume from beautiful West Cork (ticking all the happy boxes right there!!) Firstly, the packing is gorgeous … natural, simple and no fuss … and the scent is exactly the same … natural, fresh scent that isn’t over powering. It’s like someone took the beauty and magic of when you made perfume as a child, but actually smells nice!I got my bottle in Nest, Kenmare but they are stocked nationally(you can see stockists on their website)

And my final mention is Louise O’Neill’s stage adaptation of her book ‘Asking For It’ in @theeverymancork What a show .. what a story .. what an eye opener. It deals with the issue of consent which brings a whole concoction of issues and emotions with it … friendships, family dynamics, peer influence, power of the town / village, power of social media .. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a performance that was so intense, so harrowing, so raw and so real … this is a story that everyone needs to hear. We as parents are raising the next generation of boys and girls and we have a duty to be aware .. to make them aware. It is going to @abbeytheatredublin and I would highly recommend going to it.

Well done @oneilllou , you are a real inspiration and thank you for helping us as a society to open our eyes and use our voices.
