Our Three Outdoor Play Projects

SHOWCASE!! Our three ideas that we created in the garden for the

SHOWCASE!!

Our three ideas that we created in the garden for the #outdoorfunprojectwith @thecraftymum.ie .. not all fully finished but we’re delighted with them!!

CHALKBOARD LOGS … This was the fastest and easiest of the three projects and the kids have gotten so much entertainment from it!! .
We had the logs already so we picked ones of various sizes, that were nice and flat and some which had branches sticking out which could be used as handles to move around.

We painted them with the kids, using black chalkboard paint that we already had. It’s for interiors and exteriors so it worked perfectly!

Add a bucket of chalk, an old cloth for wiping off before starting again, and that’s it!

POTS… We had lots of mix match pots, all of various shapes, sizes and in all kinds of conditions!

Rather than buying new ones, we sprayed them all using @makeitrustoleum@rustoleum and it completely transformed them!

We brought the kids to the garden centre, let them pick out whatever plants / flowers they wanted and it’s now their responsibility to water them! We’ll see how that goes .. although they do have the advantage of Irish weather!

MUD KITCHEN… and the final project, our beloved, our adored Mud Kitchen!

It’s still not fully finished but the structure has been build (on Highlights),have added some pots on the top of the pallets as inspired by @leagh_farm and Grandad Jim added the water / tap system a few days ago and it’s epic! He set it up so the water runs from the sink back into a bucket so it can be reused! Will show it properly on Stories over the weekend.

We still need to add a shelf at the bottom and put up some hooks, etc but it’s adored (by the kids and us!) just as it is!

And that’s them! Our #outdoorfunproject and we’re delighted .. looking forward to lots of easy, outdoor fun days.
