Cardboard Fun with @create_make_and_play
This evening I made a small world box. It was quick and easy to make and a great choice if you’re looking for something to do with your kids today.
To create the small world town….
I stuck some road tape down, added shoe inserts and used chalk pens to add some buildings, pond and trees.
I then added a few of the boys wooden trees, buildings, cars and people to bring it to life.
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:
•fine motor skills and cognitive development (when rolling, racing, crashing and parking the cars)
•hands-on learning
•concentration
•listening skills
•skill and control over an object
•positional language (next to, behind, under, in between)
•distance (near, nearest, close, closest, far, furthest etc)
•STEM skills
The activity compliments the following areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) :
- Moving and Handling
– Speaking
– The World
– Maths
– Being Imaginative
Thanks so much for sharing this idea Molly @create_make_and_play
We loved the idea so much, we even chose a specific box in the shop today so we can try it out!
