Description
Our Annual Bee Surveys are back for 2026, and everyone’s invited to join the buzz!
Come along with Alan Balfe, our Senior Ecologist, as we kick off this year’s Bee Surveys on 25 March 2026 then 15th April and 20th May from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Together, we’ll head outdoors to discover the busy world of Ireland’s wild bees 🐝
Each month (excluding July and August), right up to the 7th October, you can join Alan to search for bees around the Wetlands, learn how to spot different species, and help record what you find for the National Biodiversity Data Centre. It’s a brilliant way for families to learn how to identify bees at home and understand why these tiny pollinators are so important.
We may need to reschedule if the day turns wet but keep an eye on our Tralee Bay Wetlands Facebook Page for updates.
This event is suitable for both adults and children, whether you’re a curious beginner or a nature‑loving regular. Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times.
Everyone is welcome. Tá fáilte roimh gach duine.
