Location: Derrynane, County Kerry, Ireland
Derrynane beach is a lovely sandy beach located 2 miles distance from Caherdaniel village in Derrynane Bay, County Kerry. The beach is also close to Derrynane House (If you follow directions for Derrynane House, you will then see signs for Derrynane Beach).
It’s a Blue Flag Awarded sheltered beach popular for swimming and watersports activities. Public toilets facility is provided for the visitors, parking is right by the beach so you don’t have any hassle with kids. It is worth noting that Derrynane Beach is very busy during peak Summer Days, and parking can be difficut.
The beach has gorgeous sand, a lot of places and little islands to explore. Ideal to pay a visit with family & kids, enjoy the lovely beach view, historic houses, and have some quality time in the relaxing weather.
Derrynane beach is a proposed Natural Heritage site. It is also part of the Kenmare River SAC and the Iveragh Peninsula SPA. The area is rich in biodiversity and of significant national importance.
