About This Event
Unleash your child’s love for nature and the outdoors with a week of fun, exploration and adventure at Dúlra Forest School’s Halloween Wilderness Camp.
Designed for children aged 5–12, our camps offer a unique opportunity to spend time outdoors, develop independence and build confidence through hands-on learning and child-led play. Across the week, children can enjoy nature exploration, bushcraft, nature crafts, den building, scavenger hunts, campfire activities, tool use, food preparation and plenty of imaginative outdoor play.
Osberstown Forest, Sallins
Located just outside Sallins, Osberstown Forest is a beautiful ash woodland with natural slopes perfect for den building, climbing, mudslides, and adventurous woodland play. With hawthorn and willow trees, hidden corners, and plenty of space for exploration, it offers a lively and immersive setting for outdoor adventure.
Easily accessible from Naas and just a short walk from Sallins, the site includes nearby on-site parking beside Acorn Creche.
A Day at Camp
Each day follows a natural rhythm, with a balance of guided activities and child-led exploration. Children might build a den, climb trees, make something from natural materials, help prepare food, explore the woodland, sketch and collect nature materials, or simply find a quiet spot in a hammock. Our Forest School Leaders and Assistants provide guidance and support while giving children the freedom to lead their own adventures.
Our camps are designed to help children develop independence, resilience, problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork, all while enjoying the freedom and benefits of outdoor play. There are no screens — just fresh air, nature, hands-on learning and plenty of opportunities to have fun.
Children are supported by qualified and experienced Forest School Leaders and Assistants who create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
We run at a maximum of 24–32 children per week, depending on the site, to ensure a child-centred experience. Morning and full-day children take part alongside each other, creating one shared group experience.
Bookings close 24 hours before the start of camp. As the skills and relationships developed through our 4-day programme are integral to the full experience, we do not offer individual-day or part-attendance bookings. For one-day experiences, please see our Wilderness Days.
