Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum and Gardens

Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum and Gardens is situated just outside of Wexford town in the Sunny South East.

It offers a fun and engaging day out for all the family.

Learn the rich and colourful history of the Castle through a guided tour taking you through the opulent ‘upstairs’, down to the servants kitchen and along the rare 86m servants tunnel.

The Irish Agricultural Museum displays one of the most comprehensive exhibits of farming and rural life in Ireland. The museum is home to a large collection of beautifully restored tractors, farm equipment and stationary engines as well as a gallery featuring recreated workshops of traditional trades. Our younger guests can enjoy following clues along ‘The Little Red Tractor’ trail throughout the museum.

The beautiful and expansive gardens offer over 5km of trails to explore with ample space to enjoy a picnic and some family fun. Our new 1.5km, fully accessible, lower lake walk hosts a Woodland Adventure playground with an area for toddlers to enjoy as well as older children.

We understand that dogs are very much part of the family and they are very welcome to Johnstown.

Our visitor centre houses a cáfe with indoor and outdoor seating areas, a retail space, and a dedicated baby changing room. Parking is complimentary. Dogs are welcome in the garden provided they are on a lead.
