Silver Strand

Location: Silver Strand, Louisburgh, Co. Mayo

Silver Stand beach is a beautiful remote beach located 25km South distance from Louisburgh, Co. Mayo.  (The road is a bit narrow and a long drive, bring some patience for the road!). The beach has lovely soft sand and the water is crystal clear. You will see Mayo Mountains behind. Despite the lack of proper facilities, this beach is a lovely quaint place, you will feel the edge of the world here! Great for a day out and spend some quality time in this lovely quiet beach.

This fine sandy beach is a 2018 Green Coast Award winner beach and its located in an ecologically significant area. The area is also rich with archaeological heritage, there are over 700 known archaeological monuments here.
