Location: The Phoenix Park, Dublin (entrances on both the north and south side of the city)
Path: Cycle path, pedestrian path – tarmac, accessible, variety of looped/linear walks
Parking: The Visitor Centre and around the park at various points and at each of the places of interest
Facilities: Cafes, toilets, bike hire, playgrounds and more…
Features: The Áras an Úachtarán, Dublin Zoo, Farmleigh House and grounds, The American Embassy, The Magazine Fort, The Phoenix Monument and more…
The walk included here starts and finishes at the Civil Defence House, opposite the Hole in the Wall entrance on the North Road. Of course it’s an option to park in the Visitor Centre or on Chesterfield Ave but the triangle is our usual port of call. The reason being the Visitor Centre can be quite busy and there are a number of loops that can be done from here.
