Description
We were so impressed with this walk at Kingscourt, the variety of trails, the points of interest for young and old and it’s very close proximity to Cabra Castle, where we had a delightful lunch.
This forest park is up there as one of our favourites as there are treats in store around every corner. Coillte have done a fantastic job of maintaining this amenity and providing visitors with plenty to explore. Read more about the history and the location here.
Facilities include:
- Ample car parking
- Toilets (rustic but well located at the car park)
- Picnic benches
- Points of interest and fun animal caricatures
- Well signposted
- Lake with ducks (remember the bread!)
We were so pleasantly surprised when we realised Cabra Castle was located only 500 metres up the road in the direction of Carrickmacross. A very tasty lunch was enjoyed by all and we were even graced with Molly’s presence (the resident Irish Wolfhound). Go make a day of these two wonderful places.
