Description
I’m Liadhán (Le-oon) , I’m a mum of 3 young kids. I’m a Child Sleep Consultant, founder of CulaBaby Sleep products and more recently a certified breathwork teacher.
CulaBaby is a sleep brand. My journey to creating CulaBaby and supporting families started with my own experiences as a parent.
Before having my first son, Hugo, I valued health and wellness—exercise, nutrition, and mental health were priorities—but sleep was something I never really thought about. I was getting enough, so it didn’t cross my mind. That all changed overnight when Hugo was born, and sleep became a luxury I no longer had. It quickly turned into an obsession as I read countless books and tried everything to help him sleep.
Like many parents I felt an overwhelming pressure to just handle the sleepless nights , because that’s what parenthood was supposed to be, right? I normalized the exhaustion, thinking I just had to push through on my own. Whilst friends had babies who slept, I accepted that I hadn’t got a sleeper , he just had loads of energy, myself and my husband have energy and eventually he would sleep better.
But after two years of relentless sleep deprivation impacting myself and my husband I knew I needed help.
That's when I reached out to a sleep consultant and it was a game changer. I learned about the science of sleep and realized I didn’t have to handle it alone. Within a week, Hugo’s sleep improved, and we all benefited—physically and emotionally. I was able to exercise again, eat better and even felt like I could go on a night out without the fear of being woken up
I went on to have my second child, and for the most part, sleep was manageable. We had our rough nights, but they were few and far between. However, when my youngest arrived soon after , there are 15 months between them, I found myself back in the cycle of sleepless nights, juggling a newborn, a toddler, and a husband who traveled frequently for work. Once again, I pushed through and normalized the exhaustion. With three kids, sleepless nights seemed inevitable.
But when my youngest turned two, the exhaustion caught up with me, and I could see the toll it was taking on my physical and mental health. I was also working full-time, running on empty, and feeling completely broken. I knew I had to make a change. There was a sense of guilt and pressure—I felt I should know what to do by now, having three kids. But what I didn’t realize at the time was that I was also navigating the chaos of parenthood and balancing three different schedules.
It was during this time that I had my lightbulb moment and designed the CulaBaby Sleep Shade—a solution for naps on the go, creating a dark, safe, sleep-friendly environment while managing the demands of multiple schedules.
It took me two years to ask for support again, and this time, I was reminded that every child and family is unique—and that I didn’t have to do it alone. I had fallen into bad habits while in survival mode.
Reaching out to these two ladies over the course of 4 years, through my own experiences, and seeing the struggles that other families faced over the years pushed me to dive deeper into the world of sleep science and get certified as a child sleep consultant.
Yes, having kids often means sleepless nights, but it doesn’t have to be a constant struggle. You don’t need to face it alone or accept exhaustion as normal. It’s okay to seek support—just as you would if your child were sick or struggling to feed.
My goal is to educate and guide families to understand their baby’s sleep needs and build healthy habits. I want to relieve that pressure and show parents that they don’t have to push through on their own. As a mum of three, I know the feeling of being overwhelmed and waiting too long to ask for help.
Even with great sleepers, the challenges of parenthood don’t end. The demands of caring for young children, balancing work, and managing daily stress often left me feeling overwhelmed, which led me to explore breathwork. This practice helped me find moments of calm amidst the chaos. The positive impact of these brief, intentional breathing exercises inspired me to deepen my understanding and become a certified breathwork teacher
Breathwork is now an essential part of my personal and professional life. When parents reach out, I can immediately sense their stress and overwhelm, and I empathize deeply. Having been through countless sleepless nights, I know firsthand how much a child’s sleep impacts not only their well-being but also the mental health of parents. Incorporating breathwork into my practice has been transformative. It helps parents shift from stress to calm and creates a soothing bedtime routine for toddlers and older children. Using breathwork at bedtime can improve sleep habits and ease the anxiety parents often feel during sleep training.
I’m excited to share these techniques with families, helping them manage stress, build healthy sleep habits, and navigate parenthood with more ease. Whether guiding parents through sleep challenges or teaching breathwork practices, my goal is to help you find balance and calm in your parenting journey.
