Description
We are Dublin Music Therapy, a private music therapy practice based in Dún Laoighaire, Co. Dublin. Our goal is to use musical interaction and engagement to ensure our clients feel safe and supported throughout their therapeutic journey, with the hope that the skills and tools gained from music therapy will enable them to flourish in their day-to-day lives.
In Music Therapy, the main focus is on the musical relationship between the client and the therapist rather than verbal interaction. Therefore Music Therapy is particularly effective for those with limited verbal skills, or for those who may struggle to find the right words to identify and describe the overwhelming emotions they may be experiencing. Music is used as an alternative form of communication, providing a platform for meaningful connection and self-expression.
Dublin Music Therapy was founded by Jessica Sinclair, IACAT accredited Music Therapist, in September 2020. Jessica is extremely passionate about her work, using music as a tool to help and support others in strengthening their own personal tools and abilities. Jessica currently specialises in the areas of Early Intervention, ASD and other developmental disorders or delays, Intellectual Disability, Trauma and Perinatal Mental Health Care.
