Little People:Big Dreams – A Celebration of Diversity, Strength and Perseverance

The Kid’s Book Edit theme for this month with cohost Kristina @transatlantic_leonards is DIVERSITY.

We think it’s safe to say that the Little People, Big Dreams series of books from the incredible @mariaisabelsanchezvegara and many talented illustrators, opened up the diversity of our book shelves.

Opened it wide up!

This series of books shares the true stories of many girls and boys, men and women of many nationalities, religions, colour, race, ethnicity, abilities, anti stereotypes … and many more.

We literally can’t recommend them highly enough.

The books are accessible for younger children (there are also gorgeous board books for even younger kids) but they can be enjoyed by older kids .. and adults!

Each book has a timeline and brief history at the end which gives wonderful pictures and details about their lives.

We are loving building up our own collection but also adore to give them as gifts too.

We began our collection with @kilkennyshop where we first stumbled across them quite a few years back and have been addicted ever since!

From Stephen Hawking to Harriet Turban, Frida Kahlo to Amelia Earhart and so many more in between… they are incredible people .. with incredible diverse lives … that we can all learn from and be inspired by.
