This week’s book recommendations are series of books and particular authors who’s full collection we’d recommend.

David Walliams is an amazing kids author .. both for older and younger children. He has a selection of four picture books for younger kids and they’re one as good as the next! They all feature animals and our kids can’t get enough of them!

Any of the books created by the award winning duo Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler are guaranteed to be loved and adored. She a genius author, he a genius illustrator.. their books are picture book perfection.

Our love for Oliver Jeffers is well known at this stage (here’s looking at you too Futa Fata 😜😜) He has a wide variety of books, but if you’re looking for somewhere to start, his selection of books about the boy and the little penguin are super… Up and Down is recited off by heart in our house!!

Tractor Ted is a new series to us and it’s super! For anyone who has a tractor / machine loving child .. it explores farm life .. but most importantly, it uses real life images. Fantastic! We learn from it ourselves! We will definitely be growing this collection!!

‘The Little Library’ series of books from John and Fatti Burke is a collection of books that introduces kids (and adults!) to various heroes and heroines throughout Irish history .. beautifully written and illustrated .. love the timeline at the back and the ‘Did You Know’ section which relates the story and places mentioned in the book to places that are still visible now. Another series we’re looking forward to growing.

We’ve a full blog written on Little People, Big Dreams series of books .. if you haven’t heard of them before .. you’ve got to check out the post. They are amazing in every single way .. and suitable for younger and older kids. .

Delighted that everyone is enjoying our sections of books in the lead up to Christmas! Thanks for all the love and messages .. we’re at our happiest when chatting about books .. so thank you!
