November is the month when we like to quietly get ready for Christmas .. while it’s still pretty calm and there’s no panic to pick up unnecessary pieces.
Something that we always get the kids as part of their present is books! We love picking out which ones we’ll get them and as we get asked questions about books all the time, we thought it might be nice to share some books we love and would make great presents.
We’ve divided them out into a few sections and we’ll be sharing them during the month of November. .
We’ll start with books that are absolute classics .. books that have been around for while .. are in lots of people’s book collections .. and are a wonderful place to start if you haven’t ventured into the world of kids’ picture books before. .
Let us begin by saying, there are other favourites that could have been included but we had to try to keep it somewhat condensed!
So, in no particular order, the books include .. ‘The Gruffalo’, by the wonderful, award-winning duo Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler, tells the superb rhyming tale of a very clever mouse and his first encounter with the knobbly kneed Gruffalo!
‘Dear Zoo’ by Rod Campbell has some very interesting packages from the Zoo that will have your kids wanting to have the book on repeat and be repeating it themselves!
‘How to Catch a Star’ by Oliver Jeffers is the first gorgeous story where we meet the boy who is on a wonderful adventure to find a beloved star. There are more fabulous books where the boy meets a friend and they have wonderful adventures together.
‘Guess How Much I Love You’ by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram is the sweetest, most wonderful book to read with your child at bed time (or any time really) It’s just made for cuddling, loving and treasuring.
We’ve full reviews done on all the other books so make sure to check out our blog if you want to find out more details about those ones!
