‘The Lion Inside’ by Rachel Bright and Jim Field

It’s always a good sign when you’ve borrowed a book countless times

It’s always a good sign when you’ve borrowed a book countless times from the library, and the kids still choose to buy it at the book shop! That is exactly what happened with this book, The Lion Inside, written by Rachel Bright and illustrated by Jim Field.

This is a feel good book, with moral and life lessons for kids … a book about a meek mouse who has to summon the courage to ask lion to help him find his roar … with a surprise outcome!

The rhyming story takes you through some beautiful illustrations, some fantastic double spread pages of the lion, but best of all has got to be the message … a message portrayed through some fantastic quotes, ending with “Yes, that day they both learned that, no matter your size, we all have a mouse and a lion inside”

Any book that highlights that we all have strengths .. a book that highlights how different, yet also similar, we all are … a book that highlights how friendships can come from the unlikeliest of places … a book that highlights you can’t judge people or fully know their strengths and weakness, fears or doubts … a book that highlights how we have various parts to ourselves we may not even know … then that book is a book that’s worth reading and sharing with your kids… many, many times ( until the cover falls off like ours!!)
